Open Protocol · Permissionless

Asgaya

Asgaya is an open protocol designed to support those doing the unglamorous work of convincing local merchants to accept Bitcoin. We leverage remittances and tourism to incentivize adoption, providing an entry ramp that does not extract fees from businesses and finally makes Bitcoin Cash easy to use for the average person.

Ecosystem Roles

Associated Merchants

The heart of the network. A merchant already accepting BCH can offer cash out services in exchange for a small fee to people receiving remittances in their area. No additional hardware or complex integrations required.

Liquidity Providers

Agents provide BCH liquidity to the protocol anonymously and without prior approval. They can operate from anywhere in the world, following the rules defined by the protocol.

Escrow Nodes

It is vital to have escrow nodes to facilitate the bridge between payment providers. Their function is to ensure that the exchange is secure, automatic, and instantaneous for all parties.

Promoters and Activists

If you are doing the hard work of convincing local shops to adopt Bitcoin Cash, Asgaya is your tangible tool. It allows you to offer them a way to receive payments from foreign apps (remittances or tourists) without the abusive fees of the traditional system.

Developers and Pioneers

We are looking for those who understand local systems like SPI in Paraguay or Nequi in Colombia. Your knowledge is key to mapping new bridges and making the protocol truly universal.

Beta Testers

Once the first corridors are established, we will need help to fill the merchant maps with green dots. Your real-world feedback is what will make the system robust.

Project Origin

The research that led to this protocol began as a public question on Bitcoin Cash Research. The original thread is here: Are we close to a killer app?. The technical conversation continues in the forum as the protocol evolves.
